Nicholas Pappas, 14, an Athlete of the Vonitsa Maritime Club was crowned World Champion in the Optimist 2025 category. Niclolas winning a stunning individual victory and leading the Optimist National Team, which climbed to the top of the world for the second year in a row!

The success of the Greek mission at the Optimist World Championship in Portoroz, Slovenia is impressive. As all Greek athletes secured places within the top 60 among 280 athletes from around the world, taking second place in the world rankings. An achievement that underlines the high level of Greek sports sailing.
